Out Smarted By My 3 Year Old...

Determined to have Haven potted trained by her third birthday I decided that I would try something different tonight. Since Haven hates to be dirty I thought if I put her in big girl panties and she didn't use the potty it would bother her. Smiling as I thought I was so cleaver Haven came to me with muffins. Since dinner was on the stover I told her she could have them if she ate all her dinner. While talking to Haven about the muffins I said...
"Haven, do you need to go potty?"
"Umm, no mommy."
"Ok, go put the muffins up until after dinner"
"Ok mommy. I go potty!"
Excited because I thought my idea was working I replied....
"Ok honey. Mommy is so proud of you!"
After a few minutes I called for Haven so I could reward her for using the potty, but when she walked up to me I noticed she had wet her panties.
"Oh Haven, what happened honey? Show me where you went potty so mommy can clean it up"
I followed Haven into my bathroom where her potty is. Thinking to myself that she must have sat on the potty but forgot to pull down her panties, I saw this in instead...

Haven may have needed to go potty but she really went to eat the muffins. Where she found the scissors I have no idea.

A Great Way To Start The Weekend!

Friday on lunch I tood Haven to a nearby park! The weather amazing, perfect for an outside lunch. Haven had a great time on the slides and jungle gyms.

I was able to enjoy the sunshine while watching Haven play. It was a great way to start the weekend. Unfortunately I had to return to work for the last half of the day.

The Dreaded Project..

During my last day of recovering from being sick I decided to take on a most dreaded project. I have been neglecting this project because no matter how much time I put into it, it seemed to be an endless battle. Cleaning Haven's playroom.. Here is how the room looked before I started......

With a deep breath, a trash bag and a full glass of water, I dove in. Not knowing where in the world to start I decided to just empty everything in the floor, which was mostly already done, and start from scratch. I placed each box on the floor and started sorting Weebles, My Little Pony, Dora and any other theme of toys Haven had into them. As I was sorting through the endless piles of toys I found myself wondering where Haven got this or what does this go to? And how did Haven get sooo many stuffed animals. Finally starting to see the floor and barely having any space left I was reminded that Haven's birthday is coming up. How could this room possible hold anymore toys I thought. That would have to be another project in it's self. I just needed to focus on finishing this one. After two hours and chasing Haven out of the room a countless number of times I was finally finished!!

Now the countdown starts until this is once again a project on my on-going list of things to do around the house...

Level 2 of Haven vs Chloe

Tonight while Haven was laying on the couch watching her shows before going to bed she started laughing uncontrolable. Curious as to what she may up to I glanced over to see she playing with Chloe. Haven had been playing with her dress up clothes earlier today and still had a wand on the couch. Instead of her hand she decided to tease Chloe with the wand.
There were times when Chloe would actually win and pull the wand from Haven's hands. So Haven would get up to reclaim the wand resulting in Chloe running to hide. After a few minutes she would return to play again.
It was a great way to Haven to end her evening and best of all I was able to hear one of the greatest sounds in the world. My daughter's laugh!

Starting to Get the Hang of It!

While sitting at home today, believing I am on my death bed, I decided to work on our blog. Hoping to learn more tricks to make it special and unique. Since I haven't slept since Friday night due to coughing and a snuffy nose I have had a lot of time to play around and look at sites. After many frustrating hours and restarting over and over again, I finally customized our header! Next I hope to figure out how to customize my signature. But for now I am taking a break. Enjoy our new layout!

Haven & Chloe's New Game!

Unlike Zaggs, Chloe is very skittish and intrigued by Haven. Zaggs would put up with Haven's soft (mostly hard) petting, cuddling and being layed on until he couldn't bear it any longer then walk away. However, Chloe feels different about Haven's loving demeanor. Since Zaggs has been missing Haven has turned all of her attention to Chloe. But anytime Haven comes close to her she runs and hides, which leads to Haven chasing her around the house. Regardless of her fears Chloe is stil curious of Haven. When Haven is asleep chloe will approach her and try to investigate what Haven is all about. Just recently Chloe has began to interact with Haven.

Do you remember the game "Hot Hands" where one would lay their hands on top of the others and try to avoid being hit? Well, that is Haven and Chloe's new game in a nutshell. While Haven lays on the couch she will hang her hand down and Chloe will slap at it.

As long as Haven stays on the couch Chloe will play, but once Haven sits up Chloe is gone. They could play this game for hours or until Haven gets slapped! Then the game is over because Chloe still has her claws..

Posing Before Gymnastics

Haven has been around gymnastics since birth and is always hanging, jumping and climbing on things. So I decided to re-enroll her in the Mommy and Me class. Her classes are on Mondays at 6:30, which gives me time to go home change clothes and eat a snack before heading to the gym. Tonight she decided she wanted to pose for pictures before going.

Which worked out great for me since I was needed a picture to put on her birthday invitations!

Save the date: Haven's 3rd Birthday will be held at Aspire gym June 20!!!

The Early Bird Gets a Muffin!

First thing this morning, before I even had time to wipe the sleep out of my eyes, Haven was asking to make muffins. Usually her first words before getting out of bed are "I want to watch my show!". Since this was completely out of her norm and I was so thankful to not start day off with Wonder Pets or Wow Wow Wuzzby I couldn't say no. So before I even had my morning must, coffee, we started making muffins.

While Haven was stirring the muffin mix I was making my much needed coffee. Next Haven scooped the mix into the muffin pan.

Time to bake! But first she had the lick the spoon, who doesn't! =)

Patiently waiting for the muffins to bake...

Finally they are ready to eat! Here is the finished product. Hopefully she will start making breakfast all the time =)

From Mother to Daughter!

One day a few weeks ago Papa brought over all the boxes I had in the attic of keepsakes from childhood through college. After having the boxes piled in the garage for a week or so I finally decided to go through them and reminisce what seemed to be a life time ago.

Along with many other items I had totally forgotten about, pogs being one of them, I found some of my old Barbies and a Barbie Jeep. I had always wanted to be able to give my daughter some of the toys I loved as a child and now I had the chance!

It didn't take long before Haven was pushing the jeep around the house and have barbie clothes strung all over.

Still today, after having the barbies over a week I find little shoes throughout the house. Mainly after stepping on them.. Ouch!!
