Life Lessons Of Being A Big Sister

Lesson #1

When your mom is changing your brothers diaper, be sure to stay far enough back so you are not showered as well.

You're So Vain!!

Lately Haven has entered a phase of taking pictures of herself. She will ask to take a picture of her brother and before I know it she is posing and taking self portraits! Here are just a few of her pictures.

I honestly believe she could pictures for hours and hours if the battery would allow it.

In The Blink Of An Eye

Seems like it was just yesterday I was working and day dreaming of the day Grayson would finally arrive. I can't believe it has already been a week. How time flies!

Reading to her bother. So sweet!

Being a big sister is hard work!

Haven is just in love with her baby brother. When were we go somewhere she asks if we can take her baby brother. I don't think she understands that he is actually a living person and not a 'live' doll like she got for Christmas!
We have all adjusted well and are enjoying our little family! We want to thank everyone for all the love and support we have received thus far. We love you!

28 Days!!!

Today I had another checkup with the doc to see how Grayson is coming along. Haven got to hold the little machine to my belly so we could hear his heartbeat, she thought that was pretty cool. And we scheduled the c-section date....Jan 25 at 12:00pm!! He will be here before we know it!

Peace & Quite Does Exist!!

After a long and stressful holiday season I thought it was time for some R&R. So Anna and I got Haven and Ditto to lay down and watch Pinocchio!

It was so nice to have the kids watch a movie and not fight over toys. What a great Christmas present from them!

A Snowy Night Project...

Today while at Walmart doing some last minute shopping Haven saw a Gingerbread House kit and just had to have it. Since the weather was expected to get bad I gave in to her demanding request! I thought it would be a great project to due while it was snowing outside! However, we were not allowed to start the house until Uncle Brian was here to help, once he arrived the project was on!
First is the foundation...

Next are the sides and roof...

Haven was so excited to build her house!

And finally it's time to decorate. The most favorite step of all!!

So focused..

We realized half way through decorating that one shouldn't build a Gingerbread House while the oven is on. The icing does not harden therefore the house does not stay together! But we did our best and Haven had a great time, which is all that matters.
The finished product!

Great job Haven and thanks for helping Uncle Brian and Rachael.

Welcoming Grayson!

My sisters Maggie and Becky hosted a wonderful baby shower for Grayson. They always do such a great job at putting parties together and decorating.

Grayson's adorable cake. I loved it!!

The games!

Never say "Baby" game: Everyone at the shower received a clothes pin with the goal of not saying the word "baby". If one says "baby" and is caught they must give their clothes pin to the person who calls them out. The person with the most clothes pins at the end of the shower wins. Congrats to Claire for not saying "Baby"!

Guess Mom's Tummy Size game: The object of this game is for each person to measure out a piece of yarn they believe my tummy to be. Then they compare their measurements to my tummy. Whom ever is the closest is the winner!

Stephanie taking her measurements!

Rachael was close.

Whitney was way off! (thank goodness)

I believe Claire's piece of yarn could have wrapped around me three times!!

Jessica was right on! Congrats to Jess for being the closest!

After the games it was cake time!! Of course the little ladies had to join us for this!

Jonah was anti-girls so he stayed up stairs with the men!

Once our tummies were full of cake it was time for the gifts!

Haven was such a good helper AND opener with the gifts!

All of the gifts were wonderful! Thank you all so much for them.

A baby shower is not complete without a picture of the belly!

A big Thank You to Becky and Maggie for hosting a wonder shower and to all my friends and family for the amazing gifts.
