A Walk Down Memory Lane

Not long ago I decided to take Haven to the park where I grew up practicing softball. I thought it would be nice to let Haven play on the field and playground equipment while I reminisced about my years as a softball player for the Patriots. I knew the park had undergone come changes, but I was unaware of how many changes had taken place.
You would never know there was once a softball field at this park. The field is now a parking lot and playground. I was saddened by what I saw.

In this picture I am standing in right-center looking towards homeplate.

Where the playground is now was once left field.

And this is another shot from the outfield looking towards home.

Shortly afterwards I also learned that the complex I played league games at was also torn down. My childhood memories are becoming just that. Memories... =(

Well enough of the heart felt story. Here are some pictures of Haven playing at the park along with Ditto!

While Haven was on this toy she was yelling "Woohoo, I'm riding a cowboy!" I couldn't help but laugh!

Keena Bear being the good girl she is and watching the kids play. She is almost like having a babysitter at all times!

We all had a great time playing and swinging. I am sure we will make many more trips to this park, even with the new changes!

An Evening Walk

I had promised myself and Haven that once fall was here we would start taking walks in the evening. Tonight was our first walk of many! Anna and Ditto joined us along with the dogs. Since we were not sure how it would go being our first walk, we decided to walk a short distance to the railroad tracks.
Haven had to lead the way.

Haven heard something and we all had to be quiet so she could figure out what it was.

After exploring everything Ditto, Haven and the dogs came across, we finally made it to the railroad tracks.

Now it was time to throw rocks and see who could get them the farthest or into the water.

Anna trying to help the kids throw their rocks into the water.

Keena Bear!

Haven wasn't sure about the walk home. She kept hearing things and would get scared. (I think we may be in for a treat this Halloween)

All in all our first evening walk was a success. Haven only fell down once and Ditto only picked up one snake, thankfully it was dead! I think tomorrow evening we are going to put pennies on the railroad tracks like I use to do as a kid!

Fun with Leon!

Last weekend a group of friends and I got together to watch the Hogs play. One of our friends brought his new puppy, Leon, with him. Haven had a new best friend. At first Leon would chase Haven through the garage. After awhile he wanted Haven to chase him. It was so cute.

I even got into the puppy love. Who doesn't love puppy breath.

American Idol

While at my friends Whitney's house, the girls (Haven and Jaci) decided they wanted to sing. Luckly Jaci had a karaoke player! The songs of choice were the ABC's and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

I think the hardest part for both girls was taking turns. They both wanted to be in the spot light with Whitney and me laughing at them.
If only I knew how to download videos, I have a great one of them signing.

Go Tigers Go!!

Last week Haven attended her first Tigers football game. Before hand, I told her we were going to a watch the tigers play football! Haven then proceeded to ask if the zebras and elephants were playing too. I could not help to laugh as I thought it was the cutest thing ever.
Since Haven seemed to like the game so much we took her this friday too. Only this time we got to sit in the endzone. She loved being able to run around with the coaches kids and play football just like the Tigers!

Haven with her Tiger paw tattoo!

Rylee and her Tiger tattoo!

The Tigers won both games and we are looking forward to their next game.

We Hear the Train a Coming!!

Creekmore park in Ft. Smith has a little train kids and parents can ride for only a quarter! Usually the engine is diesel but today the steam engine was running. So Anna and I met up with Aunt Donna and Phil and took the kids to the park to ride the train. This was Haven's first time to ride the train and she was so excited.

We rode the train twice and had a great time. Haven loved it and I have a feeling we will be going back many more times!
